It's Wednesday! Random Dozen Time!

Linda at 2nd Cup of Coffee hosts a Random Dozen question and answer meme each Wednesday! So if you would like to join in or just read what everyone has posted, click on her blog link and have fun!!!

1. Are you pleasant when you're ill, or are you a grumpy, fussy patient?
I don't know that I am "pleasant" but I don't make anyone else miserable along with me. :-)
I just try to lay low until I am feeling better.
When I had my hip replacements and was recovering, Ed said I was the model patient. :-) He should know. He had to take care of me.
But then, I did have this kind, gentle, handsome man taking care of me. :-) How could I help but be a model patient? :-)

2. When you find out that school is canceled (due to inclement weather) what is your gut reaction?
"Yes!!! Ed will be home all day to help me take care of little Jaylon!!! Yayyyyy!!!" :-)

3. What is one domestic skill you wish you could improve?
Organization. You see, while my home looks nice on the surface, there are areas that REALLY need to be sorted and organized! Badly! :-/

4. Do you decorate your home for Valentine's Day?
No, though I may have put a few things up when Daniel was younger as in when he was in gradeschool.

5. What song is on your mind today?
"You've stolen my heart.....yes, you have,
You've stolen my heart.....yes, you have,
You wiped away the stains,
Broke away the chains,
Yes, You have."
by Leeland
I just learned it this past week and I love it! *sigh*

6. Do you prefer contemporary movies or classic?
I prefer contemporary movies, though many of the classics are my faves. I just prefer the technical improvements that have been made in the newer movies.

7. How well do you "compartmentalize" your feelings? For example, how well can you put aside a really trying moment to deal with the immediate situation which is not related to the trying moment, e.g., putting aside a tiff with your spouse in order to finish wallpapering a room.
Hmmmm......I am able to do this much better now, as compared to when we first got married (24 years ago). But I do believe it has happened as I've gotten older and grown emotionally and spiritually. It has definitely been a process.

8. What is the first thing that attracted you to your spouse? (Or if you're single, to your best friend.)
Wellll....I can still tell you EXACTLY what he was wearing the first time I REALLY noticed him: A white, long-sleeved, button-down collar shirt underneath a dark blue, gray and white pullover sweater and gray slacks. Oh my. *sigh* He looked soooo handsome.
Sooooo, I guess you could say it was his rugged, good looks! :-)

9. When was the last time your heart raced?
Oh, this one is easy!! Last night!! I was in the bathroom, finishing up getting ready for bed when my dear husband sneaked in and grabbed me from behind and yelled something like, "Gotcha ya!"
I about died!!!!

10. What are your memories of Valentine's Day at school?
I remember that we always made valentine boxes out of shoeboxes or the cardboard half-gallon milk cartons. And I can kind of remember being anxious about possibly getting a valentine from some cute boy and then looking at it carefully or trying to read something into it that maybe meant the he might kind of sort of "like" me? :-) Oh, the angst of those childhood days!

11. If you were going to receive candy for Valentine's Day, which would you prefer? It would have to have nuts and caramel! I mean, if I'm going to eat candy, it HAS to have nuts and caramel!

12. Red or pink?
Red is my favorite color!!!! I looooove RED!!!!

I think the shoebox mailboxes we all made for our valentines was a nationwide project for all grade schools. I've read that answer again and again and it was my answer to that question too!

I believe you are the best patient I've come across. Everyone else says, "fussy and grumpy".

I love nuts! I may even be nuts.

It sounds like we're similar patients.

I remember that Valentine angst, too -- trying to give just the right card to others, trying to read something into cards from the cute boys. :-0

As your blog was loading I thought for sure you would say pink : )

I have a few areas of hidden dis-organization too. Its snowing to beat the band here so it would be a good day to tackle some of those areas but I think I may attempt the tax organizer. Equally as fun as cleaning in my opinion!

I hope your husband reads your Blog. He'll enjoy seeing all the sweet things you had to say about him!

I agree with LAgirl, your husband should read all the sweet things you've said. He's loved, that one!

I love organization. My house is the opposite - looks good when you open the drawer or door, but could use a dusting and vacuum!

Your # 8 made me think of what my husband wore the first time I saw him - it was a hideous shirt. I kept it and pull it out every once and again for a good laugh.

# 11 reminds me of a Snickers - yum!

It's pleasant patients like you that give us "whiner-baby" patients a bad name. LOL.

Chocolates with nuts and/or caramel -YUM.

Thank you for providing such fun answers, and may I say that that baby in the sidebar is the CUTEST.

Have a great week, and thanks for playing!

You can't beat nuts & caramel. You did a great job here. I did it for the first time at http://wtit.blogspot.com. Have a great night.

Thank you for your sweet words!
I love your memory of the first time you really "noticed" your spouse!
And now I remember the angst about reading "into" certain valentine's, thinking they may have meant something more! I had completely forgotten about that until you mentioned it!
