Good Monday Morning!

I am off and running this morning as we are having our carpets cleaned today! Little Jaylon is here and napping already, so I haven't much time to blog but I did want to post this morning as I have been very lax about doing so lately!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I went to our county fair Saturday evening to assist my nephew Brian as he held down the fort at my brother-in-law's (his father) booth. My brother-in-law does photography in his spare time and does a very good job at it!! He displayed many of his photos and also had a screensaver and DVD of the Hocking Hills for sale.
I got to see soooo many people that I hadn't seen for soooo long! And that is one of the main reasons I like to go to the fair. Well, that and the FOOD! :-)
AND in deciding what to have to eat....hunger didn't necessarily have anything to do with it.....it's the fair! :-) I had a humongous and uber-delicious fish sandwich! Oh my word! I was heading out to get a steak sandwich that had been recommended, but right in front of me was this place selling fish sandwiches for $4, which is a bargain at the fair! Each sandwich had like two huge pieces of freshly breadly, freshly deep-fried fish on a big, soft bun with tartar sauce and I added a little malt vinegar. The fish was not crispy hard, nor was it soggy. It was just tender, flaky and good!! Oh my!! And that is all that I'll say about that! :-) *sighhhh*
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I parked approximately 4 blocks from the fair and as I was walking back to my car later that evening, I just had to thank the Lord because I am able to walk so freely after having been so crippled up and in pain for so long. I still have some lower back issues but it is so minimal compared to what I had been suffering. Thank you, Jesus, for bringing me so far!!

The weather this past week was some of the most beautiful that I can remember. Jaylon and I spent alot of time outside sitting on the porch enjoying the sunshine and pleasant breezes! He is so content to just be outside. He loves to hear his voice and sometimes would just scream at the top of his lungs and then laugh! I think he liked the echo and different sound that he heard when outside as compared to indoors.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I made a big pot of potato soup Saturday afternoon and it was scrumptious. I know everyone makes it differently but here is my recipe for potato soup:
Okay.....wait a sec....I'll have to give this some thought because I don't measure anything. :-)
A few potatoes, peeled and diced. Onions and celery sauteed in butter. So much water. So much milk. I'll try to narrow it down and post it a little later,k? :-)
I spent most of the day Saturday doing different small tasks here at home. I put out some fall decorations. Gathered up all of Daniel's shot glasses that he has collected through the years, washed them, packed them away until the display case I ordered arrives. Reframed some pictures and replaced a broken piece of glass in one of my favorite pictures.
If I didn't work at the county fair, I probably enjoy it more. When my work is done, so am I. Make sure you post some pics of the Hocking Hills area while the leaves are turning. Pretty please:)
Wow!I did a Monday random musings without even realizing it? Yayyyy for me!!! Thanks, Mrs. NB!! :-)
I will indeed post some pictures of the beautiful Hocking Hills for you, Sir!! Stay tuned!! Though the colors might not be so beautiful this year as the weather has been so dry! But we'll see! :-)
Love your fall decorations! I haven't put out any yet.
Love fair food, too! Funnel cakes get me every time.
So glad to hear you're walking without pain! Or at least not as much as you used to have.
Hey, Barbara! Thank you for the compliment! I'd like to have some real pumpkins around, too, so we'll see! :-)
I'm not much of a sweets eater though elephant ears are pretty good!
