I have been to a 16 years old funeral once, a good friend of mine killed while collecting money for charity.
What struck me about the ceremony was not what they had been but just how much they could have been, he was going to be writer. So much potential lost. So much that could have been. Truly a loss.

Yes, Aidan, the loss of a young life full of potential is so difficult to understand or come to terms with, but as a good friend reminded me...."We'll will understand it better, by and by" (the words to an old hymn).
